Bishnupur , August 27,2026 :A taxi driver returned a bag containing valuable gold ornaments worth over Rs 4 Lakh in a rare display of honesty to passenger who had mistakenly left it in his vehicle. The driver, Raja ,had picked up a woman passenger ,Gita Roy ,from Bishnupur Railway station around 10:30 p.m to drop at Banalota Restaurant .He dropped her at her destination .While getting down in a hurry ,the passenger left her small bag 👜on the back seat. Raja ,the driver ,discovered the bag after 2 hours /later 2 hours when he was going to pick up another passenger .When he opened the door of the car ,he found it on the seat. The bag contained gold bangles ,necklace, a pair of earrings and a recent purchase receipt. Rather than keeping the fortune ,Raja immediately went to Bishnupur Police Station to report about it. Police contacted the passenger who already lodged a complaint about her missing bag. The passenger came to the police station and received all her ornaments .She thanked Mr. Raja ,the driver and gave him a cash reward. Police also praised him for his honesty .
